‘Wednesday’ Returns: As Season 3 Is Confirmed, First Look Has Been Revealed
Jenna Ortega and Tim Burton recently gave fans something to be excited about. The two sat down for their first major interview together, and even though they don’t usually like doing press, they shared some big updates. Wednesday is coming back for Season 3, and the first poster has just been revealed. On top of that, there’s talk of a spin-off set in the same universe.

Since Wednesday premiered on Netflix, Jenna Ortega has become a global star. The show pulled in over 250 million views, according to Netflix, and helped make her one of the most talked-about actors on the platform. She’s now stepping into a bigger role behind the scenes too, serving as a producer for Season 3.
Season 2 is already done filming and will be released on August 6. Jenna said working on it felt a lot different this time around, and better. “Netflix has a lot more trust this time,” she explained. “We were able to do things on a grander scale and take more time with scenes.” She also revealed that Steve Buscemi and Billie Piper have joined the cast for the new season.
Nobody knows yet how many seasons the show will run. Series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have said they’d like to keep following Wednesday’s time at Nevermore Academy for several more seasons, maybe even up to seven. But Jenna might not stay that long. She’s spoken before about wanting to direct and try different kinds of projects. Tim Burton laughed it off in the interview, saying, “You’re talking to two of the worst people to ask that question.”
They also confirmed that a spin-off show is being talked about. It’s still early, so there aren’t many details yet, but the idea is to build out the Addams Family universe even more.
There’s no shortage of excitement right now. Season 2 is almost here, Season 3 is officially in the works, and the new poster has fans talking. With even more stories possibly on the way, Wednesday’s world is definitely growing.
