Two against one. I usually relish an unfair fight, but not when the betrayal is so close to home. pic.twitter.com/TjZ0AQ2fAD

Netflix’s spooky hit series first arrived in late 2022 and quickly became one of the platform’s biggest shows. It premiered globally on November 23 and shot up the charts, second only to Stranger Things when it comes to English-language shows.
Jenna Ortega’s performance as Wednesday Addams got a lot of praise and helped the show score two Golden Globe nominations and win four Primetime Emmys. Now, she’s back for Season 2, and she’s doing more than just acting. This time, she’s also working behind the scenes as an executive producer.
The new season is being released in two parts. The first half comes out on August 6, 2025, and the second half drops on September 3, 2025. Netflix confirmed this split release, and The Hollywood Reporter shared that filming started in May and wrapped up in December 2024. They shot the whole season in Ireland.
Ortega said that this season will “lean more into the horror aspect” and mentioned that “Wednesday won’t be dealing with any romantic love interests this time around.” Instead, the focus is shifting toward deeper friendships and family drama.
The show’s creators, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, are back as showrunners. They said fans will see more of the friendship between Wednesday and Enid, and the new episodes will also explore Wednesday’s complicated connection with her mom, Morticia.
There’s a bunch of returning cast members heading back to Nevermore Academy, including Fred Armisen, Christina Ricci, and of course, Zeta-Jones and Guzmán. But there are also new faces joining the series. Steve Buscemi is playing the new principal, Barry Dort, and Thandiwe Newton joins as Dr. Fairburn. Billie Piper, Joanna Lumley, and Lady Gaga are also part of the new season, though Gaga’s role is still a mystery.
The new clips gives off strong gothic energy and hints at more supernatural twists. Wednesday looks even more fearless than before. With new characters, more horror, and bigger drama, Season 2 is set to deliver everything fans loved, just with more bite.
