‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Part 2 Trailer Sees Shocking Return of Beloved Character From Beyond The Grave
Netflix has dropped the trailer for part 2 of Wednesday season 2, and it’s bringing back a fan favorite who was thought to be gone for good. After the huge cliffhanger in part 1, where Wednesday Addams’ life was hanging by a thread, fans have been waiting to see what happens next. Now, the new preview gives some answers, and more questions.
The first scene shows Wednesday waking up in a hospital bed, hooked up to machines. A nurse is in the corner, but when she turns around, it’s actually Principal Larissa Weems, played by Gwendoline Christie. Her character died back in season 1, so her return is a shock. “Rise and shine, sleepyhead!” Weems says.
Some secrets refuse to stay buried.

Wednesday stares and asks, “What part of hell is this?” Weems answers, “This isn’t hell, Ms. Addams. But, I understand the confusion.”
Wednesday then asks why she’s there, and Weems replies, “Because I am your new spirit guide. Surprise!”
From there, the trailer shows Wednesday trying to stop Tyler, played by Hunter Doohan, from carrying out a killing spree. Weems stays close, giving advice, but no one else can see her.
There’s also a short clip of Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, dancing with Gomez, played by Luis Guzmán. Another quick scene shows Wednesday doing some shotgun practice with Grandmama Hester Frump, played by Joanna Lumley.
Morticia warns her daughter, “Every family has dark chapters.” Later, Weems tells Wednesday, “If you don’t hurry, you’ll have nothing left to save.”
The trailer ends with Lady Gaga’s voice saying, “Beware. There will be a price to pay.” Her character isn’t shown, but Entertainment Weekly reported last year that Gaga would play Rosaline Rotwood. Netflix had said she was a teacher at Nevermore Academy, but Jenna Ortega told Entertainment Tonight that isn’t true.
Speaking to EW, co-creator Alfred Gough said they wanted to shake things up for season 2. “We didn’t want to repeat ourselves, as second seasons are tricky things with a lot of shows, and we wanted to change up the mystery storytelling. So the idea is that at the end of episode 4, literally all hell breaks loose. It propels you forward, but I don’t think you quite know where it’s going.”
Ortega added, “It’s the first time, at least in the season, where Wednesday truly is out of her depth,” especially after the death of Christina Ricci’s character Thornhill in the part 1 finale.
Gaga will also release a new song called Dead Dance alongside the upcoming episodes. The music video will be directed by Tim Burton, who is also an executive producer on the show. Gaga’s connection to Wednesday began after fans went viral on TikTok in 2022 by adding her 2011 track Bloody Mary to Wednesday’s dance scene from season 1. The trend brought the song back into the charts over a decade after it first came out.
Part 2 of Wednesday season 2 will be available on Netflix starting September 3.
