‘Wednesday’ Star Anthony Michael Hall Says His 23-Year Age Gap Romance Led Him to the Happiest Chapter of His Life
Anthony Michael Hall says he has found the kind of happiness he always hoped for. After decades in Hollywood, the actor says his biggest achievements are no longer just his movies and television roles, but his marriage and his life as a father.
Hall, now 58, married Licia Oskerova in 2020. The couple later welcomed their first child, son Anthony Michael Hall II, in 2024. Speaking with PEOPLE, Hall opened up about his relationship with his wife and said their connection changed his life.
“I have found my soulmate. I have, and I love her,” Hall said while talking about Oskerova, who was born in Slovakia.
The actor explained that becoming a husband and a father later in life was something that always felt right for him. Hall said he never felt pressured to follow a traditional timeline and believed starting a family when he was older was the right choice.
“I couldn’t be happier because I always knew, even when I was a young man, that I wanted to get started later,” Hall said in a 2024 interview with PEOPLE after welcoming his son at age 55.
For Hall, fatherhood has become the most meaningful role he has ever taken on. He said raising his son has brought a new kind of joy and purpose that is different from anything he experienced in his acting career.
“Fatherhood and being a husband—that’s absolutely the greatest role,” he said. “It’s a full-time job … but we love it. We just embrace it, and our son is such a joy.”
Hall also shared that his son is growing quickly and already showing plenty of personality. He told PEOPLE that the family has been enjoying watching him grow and adjust to new experiences, including starting preschool.
“We started him in preschool about six months ago. He’s doing great. He’s eating so much—I mean, this kid is like a little giant. He looks like he’s 5 years old already. But we’re having a great time. It’s incredible,” Hall said.
The couple also celebrated their relationship with a special vow renewal ceremony in 2023. Their original wedding plans were changed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but Hall and Oskerova still wanted to honor the ceremony they had planned.
In a social media post, Hall explained that they had originally hoped to get married at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Miami on November 11, 2020. Because of the pandemic, they decided to have a private civil ceremony on the beach instead.
“Being romantics, we decided we’d get married anyway, which we did, in a private civil ceremony on November 7th, 2020, on the beach in Miami,” Hall wrote.
He later kept his promise to return to the cathedral for a larger celebration with family. The 2023 ceremony became even more meaningful because their son was able to be part of the special day.
Hall shared his happiness online, introducing his wife and son as his family and celebrating the new chapter of his life.
After becoming famous as one of the most recognizable young actors of the 1980s, Hall has now found a different kind of success away from the spotlight. For him, the roles of husband and father have become the ones he values most.
