White House Fires Back at Mark Ruffalo Over Blistering & Insulting Comments About Trump and Vance
Mark Ruffalo found himself at the center of a political firestorm after his comments at the Golden Globes sparked a sharp response from the White House.
The actor attended the 2026 Golden Globes wearing a “BE GOOD” pin, which he said was meant to honor Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother of three who was fatally shot by ICE agents in Minneapolis on January 7.
Ruffalo and several other celebrities showed support for Good, whose death has become a point of national debate. According to the Department of Homeland Security, the ICE agent involved acted in self-defense, claiming Good tried to run him over. The Trump administration has labeled her a “domestic terrorist.”
While explaining why he wore the pin, Ruffalo went far beyond the incident itself and launched into a harsh attack on President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Speaking during interviews around the Golden Globes, Ruffalo accused the administration of lying and made explosive claims about Trump’s character.
“We’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded,” Ruffalo said. “He’s telling the world that international law doesn’t matter to him. The only thing that matters to him is his own morality. But the guy is a convicted felon, a convicted r****.”
He continued with even stronger language, adding, “He’s a ped*****. He’s the worst human being. If we’re relying on this guy’s morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we’re all in a lot of trouble.”
For context, Trump was convicted in 2024 on 34 felony counts related to falsifying business records. A jury also found him liable for s**** abuse in a civil case brought by E. Jean Carroll, though he has never been criminally convicted of a s** crime.
The comments quickly drew a response from the White House. Steven Cheung, Assistant to the President and White House Director of Communications, addressed Ruffalo’s remarks in a post on X. Cheung shared a Page Six article that covered Ruffalo’s statements and added his own blunt message.
“Poor thing Mark Ruffalo, star of She-Hulk, is one of the worst actors in the business,” Cheung wrote. “More impressively, he’s an even worse human being by spewing outright lies because deep down inside, he hates himself for knowingly subjecting the public to his god awful performance.”

The back-and-forth has fueled more debate online, with reactions split between those praising Ruffalo for speaking out and others criticizing him for making extreme accusations. The comments, first reported by Page Six and amplified through social media, continue to keep Ruffalo and the White House locked in a very public clash.
