The Williams F1 and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ collaboration has become one of the stranger and more entertaining crossovers of the 2026 season, and it keeps picking up speed. What started as a comic book pitch has grown into a full pop culture pit stop, with show cars, race suits and fan events along the way.

Few people would have predicted that a Formula 1 team and the Marvel Cinematic Universe would end up sharing a garage. The partnership began back in April, when Williams announced that Alex Albon, Carlos Sainz and team principal James Vowles would make their Marvel Comics debut in a one-shot book. Iron Man, Black Widow and Captain America join them in the story, which pits the heroes against Doctor Doom.

Now Atlassian Williams F1 Team has released a fresh 26-second teaser for the crossover. It arrived on Sunday, October 25, the day of the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, where the partnership has been on full display all week.

The clip is a moody, tightly framed close-up of the car rather than a full reveal. It lingers on a wheel with a purple-and-white pattern around its edge. It’s the kind of tease that sends fans zooming in frame by frame to work out what the design is hinting at.

The teaser follows the Doom-inspired show car, which swaps Williams’ usual blue for the villain’s trademark black and green. The livery was first announced on October 8, debuted at New York Comic Con, and then headed to Texas. The Williams Fan Zone in downtown Austin displayed the car from October 19 to 24.

The comic that started it all, ‘Iron Man: Racing Towards Doom’ #1, arrived on shelves and digital platforms on October 21. It is written by Ethan Sacks, with art by Greg Land and a cover by Phil Noto. A special Austin edition was also available to buy at the fan zone.

The week has produced at least one genuine viral moment too. Alpine driver Franco Colapinto showed up at the Williams fan zone in a Doctor Doom cape and mask, posing with fans for photos. Actors Anthony Mackie and Danny Ramirez were expected to be Williams’ guests at the circuit on Sunday.

New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Description Leans Hard Into Marvel’s Original Heroes and Doom’s Threat

Williams isn’t stopping at liveries and comics. The team has revealed 2 new uniforms inspired by Captain America and Thor from the film. Sainz wears a blue-and-red Captain America look with a star on the helmet, while Albon wears a darker Thor-inspired suit with a silver helmet.

The matching artwork reads ‘Atlassian Williams x Avengers: Doomsday’ and carries the film’s December 18 release date. It’s a clear reminder that every piece of this campaign is building toward the premiere. Williams has also kept the crossover going between races, with special-edition comic covers released throughout the 2026 season and a Marvel-themed digital badge for Williams ID members.

Beyond the novelty, the pairing has a natural hook. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ stars Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, joined by Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and a number of other MCU favourites. Doom is also the villain the comic sets against the F1 grid, so the story and the marketing line up neatly.

The partnership has been called a promotional tie-in that is nothing if not unexpected. That unexpectedness is much of its appeal, because it puts superhero spectacle in front of racing fans who might never open a comic book. It also gives Marvel fans a reason to tune in to a Grand Prix weekend.

For Williams, the campaign has been a way to stand out on a crowded grid. The team has already run special liveries tied to its title partner Atlassian, and the Marvel tie-in adds a different kind of spotlight.

With the premiere set for December 18, more reveals feel likely before the film arrives. If the latest teaser is any guide, Williams is happy to keep fans guessing right up to the final lap.
