Wilson Bethel Wants Bullseye in the Next Spider-Man Film, and His Reasoning Makes Total Sense

Few characters in the current MCU landscape have generated as much unexpected momentum as Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye. The sharpshooter returned with serious menace in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2, picking up where the Netflix era left off and quickly reminding audiences why Benjamin Poindexter is one of Marvel’s most compelling and unpredictable personalities on screen.

The Season 2 finale left Bullseye at a fascinating new crossroads, with Poindexter departing New York aboard a plane alongside CIA operative Mr. Charles, effectively stepping into a role as a direct replacement for Luke Cage in a shadowy government operation. Bethel has described the development as a clean slate moment for the character, one where Dex is no longer operating under the thumb of Wilson Fisk or anyone else pulling his strings from the shadows.

Now, with that newfound freedom setting the stage for a much wider MCU footprint, Bethel is making his wishes very clear. Speaking to Collider following the Season 2 finale, the actor was asked about which Marvel heroes he would love to see Bullseye face next, and his answer pointed squarely at the wall-crawler. “Let’s just hope that Tom Holland decides to do another one, and I can be a part of that one,” Bethel said.

The timing of that comment carries some real weight. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is confirmed for release on July 31, 2026, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with the film featuring Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk alongside Holland’s Peter Parker.

Bethel himself noted during the interview that the Punisher’s presence in the film made the idea feel less like a fantasy and more like a genuine possibility worth rooting for, given how naturally Bullseye and the Punisher already orbit the same corner of the Marvel universe.

Bethel has also separately expressed that a Punisher and Bullseye showdown is a dream scenario, telling Collider, “It would be a dream for me to get to shoot a Punisher-Bullseye sequence. Hopefully, we do get to do that someday.” That kind of creative longing from a performer who clearly understands his character’s comic book pedigree suggests Bethel is thinking carefully about where Dex can go, and how far the MCU might let him travel.

Bethel has confirmed that he is already locked in for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3, stating, “I can confirm that I’m in Season 3. I would obviously love to be used in some additional Marvel projects down the road, or my own Marvel project. That’s a dream.” Principal photography for Season 3 officially began on March 17, 2026 in New York, though Bethel noted at the time that he had not yet started filming his scenes.

For a character who once seemed confined entirely to Hell’s Kitchen, the trajectory now being carved out for Bullseye feels genuinely exciting. The CIA angle repositions Poindexter as a threat with national reach, and if Marvel is willing to let him loose in the wider cinematic universe, a run-in with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man would be the kind of crossover that comic readers have wanted to see rendered on screen for years.

Whether Marvel ultimately makes that happen remains to be seen, but Bethel’s enthusiasm for the idea is hard to ignore. Let us know in the comments whether you think Bullseye belongs in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ or a future sequel.
