X-Men Are Back: Xavier Reunites with Magneto as Cyclops Fires Epic Eye Beam in a New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Teaser
The X-Men are making a major return to the big screen in the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday.” A new teaser, first shown during screenings of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” and now online, features the return of classic Fox X-Men characters including Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), and Cyclops (James Marsden).
These characters first became household names in the early 2000s X-Men movies, alongside Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, who has since appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
Stewart recently reprised Xavier briefly in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” though it was a version from another universe who was quickly killed. While the trio also appeared in “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” “Avengers: Doomsday” will mark their first crossover with MCU heroes like the Avengers and the Fantastic Four.
The teaser opens with Xavier’s abandoned School for Gifted Youngers, hinting at the X-Men’s past. Magneto speaks ominously, saying, “Death comes for us all. It’s all I know for sure. The question isn’t ‘are you prepared to die?’ The question is ‘who would you be when you close your eyes?’” Viewers also see Cyclops unleash a massive red optic blast, signaling that he may play a more central role in this film’s action.

Alongside Stewart, McKellen, and Marsden, the movie will feature Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Channing Tatum as Gambit, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. The film also brings together numerous MCU characters including Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, and Simu Liu. Even more heroes are joining, with stars from the Fantastic Four and the Thunderbolts rounding out this massive crossover.
This teaser hints at an epic team-up and promises high stakes for both the X-Men and the Avengers. Fans can expect thrilling battles, emotional reunions, and the chance to see some of their favorite mutants and superheroes share the screen for the first time.
