Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Unleashes His Powers in the New ‘Wonder Man’ Teaser Trailer
A new teaser trailer for Wonder Man has finally dropped, giving fans a first look at Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man.
The upcoming Marvel Studios series is coming to Disney+ on January 27, 2026, and it’s set to bring a mix of action, comedy, and Hollywood satire to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, Wonder Man will be the 17th TV series in the MCU and part of Phase Six.
The show will fall under the “Marvel Spotlight” banner, which focuses on more grounded, character-driven stories that don’t require deep MCU knowledge.
Guest serves as the showrunner, while Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, also directs several episodes. The series is produced by Marvel Studios, Family Owned, and Onyx Collective.

In this series, Simon Williams is a struggling actor who’s trying to land the lead role in a movie remake about the superhero Wonder Man, a role that just happens to share his name. Alongside him is Trevor Slattery, played once again by Ben Kingsley, who fans might remember from Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi. The two characters find themselves competing for the same part while navigating the absurd world of show business and superhero fame.
Executive producer Brad Winderbaum said that Trevor Slattery’s story in the show has “a very interesting three-act structure” and is “very sincere, very earnest [and] not cynical.”
The cast also includes Arian Moayed as P. Cleary from the Department of Damage Control, X Mayo, Zlatko Burić as a reclusive film director named Von Kovak, Olivia Thirlby, and Byron Bowers. Demetrius Grosse will appear as Simon’s brother, Eric Williams, also known as Grim Reaper, and Ed Harris will play Simon’s agent, Neal Saroyan. Other actors like Lauren Glazier, Josh Gad, Béchir Sylvain, and Joe Pantoliano have also joined the cast in undisclosed roles.
Production on Wonder Man began in Los Angeles in April 2023, but had to pause a month later due to the Writers Guild of America strike. Filming picked back up in early 2024 and wrapped that April. The series was officially announced later that year in October 2024.
The information about the show and its production comes from Marvel Studios and various entertainment news sources, including interviews and official press releases.
With its talented cast, Hollywood setting, and a meta twist on superhero storytelling, Wonder Man is shaping up to be one of the most unique Marvel projects yet. Fans can catch it streaming on Disney+ starting January 27, 2026.
