Zac Efron Linked to Heinous Alexander Brothers Sex Trafficking Case in NYC
Zac Efron’s name came up in the federal s** trafficking trial of the Alexander brothers this week, shocking many observers. The Manhattan case focuses on Tal, Oren, and Alon Alexander, who are accused of using their wealth and celebrity connections to lure women into abusive situations. While Efron was mentioned in connection to a 2012 party, the witness made it clear he is not accused of any wrongdoing.
The testimony came from a woman using the name Katie Moore. She told the court she had been invited to watch the 2012 NBA Finals at Efron’s New York apartment with Tal Alexander and a friend. Initially, Moore said she was excited by the celebrity encounter. But she explained that the night quickly turned dangerous after the group went to a nightclub, and she was allegedly drugged.
Moore said she woke up hours later in a separate apartment with Alon Alexander. She recalled trying to refuse him, telling the court, “I don’t want to have s** with you.” She claimed he laughed and said, “You already did,” before allegedly assaulting her again. Moore emphasized that Efron had very little interaction with her that evening and clarified that her allegations of sexual violence are directed only at the Alexander brothers.
The Alexander brothers have pleaded not guilty to all charges, including conspiracy to commit s** trafficking and s** trafficking by force or coercion. Assistant U.S. Attorney Madison Smyser told the court the brothers “masqueraded as party boys when really they were predators,” using luxury trips and celebrity connections to manipulate women. The defense has called the allegations a “monstrous story,” claiming the encounters were consensual.
Although his name made headlines, Efron has been focused on his busy 2026 career. He recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has been active in film and television. His recent projects include The Iron Claw and the 2024 comedy Ricky Stanicky. Efron is also preparing for the thriller Famous, in which he plays both a Hollywood star and an obsessive lookalike fan, and he will star with Will Ferrell in Judgment Day, a courtroom comedy directed by Nicholas Stoller.
The actor is attached to Disney’s remake of Three Men and a Baby, set for streaming on Disney+, and has remained visible in television with his Emmy-winning Netflix series Down to Earth with Zac Efron. Despite the courtroom mention, his public image continues to be associated with his prolific work in film and TV.
The trial in Manhattan is expected to continue for several weeks, with more witnesses scheduled to testify about the alleged decade-long scheme. No statement has been released by Efron’s team regarding the testimony.
