12 Stars Rumored To Be the Next James Bond Michael B Jordan Now in the Race
The race to find the next James Bond is heating up as we move further into March. It has been more than six years since Daniel Craig finished his run as 007, leaving fans and studios wondering who will step into the legendary tuxedo next.
The upcoming Bond film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, with a screenplay by Steven Knight, but the actor who will play the spy remains a closely guarded secret. Betting markets have been buzzing with speculation, and several names are now at the top of the list.
British actor Callum Turner has recently become the favorite at 5/4 odds. Turner is known for Fantastic Beasts, the series Masters of the Air, and his recent film Eternity. His appearance at the Berlin Film Festival with Dua Lipa for Rosebush Pruning has fueled even more rumors about him taking on the role.
Close behind Turner is Jacob Elordi at 2/1. The Australian actor earned an Oscar nomination for his role in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein and is currently in Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights. If chosen, Elordi would be the second Australian to play Bond, following George Lazenby.
Other actors in the running include Aaron Taylor-Johnson at 5/1, a previous favorite; Henry Cavill at 6/1, a fan favorite who has yet to land the part; and Jack O’Connell, Tom Hiddleston, and Theo James at 8/1.
Anthony Boyle, who worked with Bond screenwriter Steven Knight on The House of Guinness, sits at 10/1. Michael B. Jordan, fresh off his Best Actor win, has joined the race at 12/1, raising the possibility of an American Bond. Harris Dickinson, Jack Lowden, and James Norton also remain in contention, each bringing their own British charm to the role.
The James Bond franchise is one of the longest-running in film history, starting with Sean Connery in 1962’s Dr. No. The character was created by novelist Ian Fleming, who wrote twelve novels and two short-story collections about the spy.
Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have overseen the series since the 1990s, though Amazon’s acquisition of MGM has brought new dynamics to the franchise. Director Denis Villeneuve, known for the Dune trilogy, promises a visually stunning take on the next Bond film.
Screenwriter Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders and writer of films like Eastern Promises, will bring his signature style to the script. Many of the actors in the running are busy with other projects, but speculation continues to grow.
Fans worldwide are eager to see who will be the next 007, and the casting decision is expected to dominate headlines for months.
