’30 Rock’ Cast Is Reuniting for a One-Night-Only Show You Won’t Be Able to Stream Anywhere

Television reunions have become something of a cultural ritual in recent years, with beloved casts increasingly finding excuses to get the band back together for one more round of nostalgia. But few shows have earned the kind of devoted, quote-happy fanbase that ‘NBC’s’ cult favorite workplace comedy built during its original run, making any reunion news an instant event for longtime fans.

That fanbase is now getting exactly what it’s been waiting for, though not in the format most might expect. Rather than a streaming special or a scripted revival episode, the cast is coming together for something far more intimate and, notably, permanent in a very different sense: a single live show that will never be broadcast or streamed anywhere afterward.

Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, and Jack McBrayer are confirmed to reunite for a live 20th anniversary celebration of ‘Rock,’ taking place Oct. 11 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, exactly twenty years to the day after the show’s original premiere on NBC. The event is being billed as “a never-to-be-televised event,” meaning the only way to actually experience it is to be there in person.

Fey helped announce the show with characteristic wit, referencing a real quote from the late TV critic Tom Shales, who once wrote that the series needed “a better premise and funnier dialogue… and most of all a more commanding performer in the starring role.” Fey’s invitation played directly off that old criticism, framing the anniversary as a chance to celebrate a show that ultimately proved its doubters wrong over its run.

Beyond the nostalgia factor, the event carries a genuine philanthropic mission. All net proceeds from the show will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem, with the organization’s president and CEO, Shaba R. Keys, expressing gratitude at being named the celebration’s charitable partner. According to the release, the funds will directly support after-school, academic, and career programs that serve more than 2,000 young people in Harlem each year.

The choice of venue carries its own symbolic weight for longtime fans. Radio City Music Hall sits directly across the street from the actual 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the real-world building that inspired the show’s title and setting, giving the reunion a literal full-circle quality that fans are likely to appreciate on the night itself.

Ticket access for the event has been structured in tiers, with a presale beginning at 10 a.m. ET on the Wednesday following the announcement, followed by public sales opening at the same time the next day. Given the show’s rabid fanbase and the rarity of a full cast reunion of this scale, demand for tickets is expected to be intense from the moment sales open.

While the show ended its original network run over a decade ago, its cultural footprint has only grown in the years since, with fans continuing to quote its rapid-fire jokes and absurdist plotlines well after its finale aired. A live, unscripted, unrecorded reunion feels like a fitting way to mark two full decades since Liz Lemon first walked into 30 Rockefeller Plaza, giving fans a genuinely once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the ensemble share a stage again.

For those who can’t make it to New York in October, the strictly in-person nature of the event means there won’t be a backup option to catch it later.
