50 Cent (50) Calls Out Usher (47) for Not Speaking Against Diddy
50 Cent has sparked conversation online again, this time taking aim at Usher’s recent comments about Sean “Diddy” Combs. On March 25, the G-Unit rapper shared an Instagram post reacting to a headline about Usher refusing to criticize his former mentor, even amid Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles.
“Usher like 😳 I don’t want people to know what he did to my ass. I’m a grown man now my ass is off limits. LOL,” 50 Cent wrote, using his typical mix of humor and provocation to stir the pot.
The reaction came after Usher spoke with Jabari Young for Forbes’ series The Enterprise Zone. In the interview, the R&B star explained that he prefers to view Diddy through the lens of his career accomplishments rather than recent legal headlines.
Usher acknowledged that everyone has flaws but highlighted Diddy’s role in creating opportunities for Black entrepreneurs in the entertainment world. “In many ways, I think certain people are prosecuted and maybe not recognized for the greatness that they offer,” Usher said.
He also stated, “I don’t have anything negative to say about Sean Combs because my experience was not what the world has seen and how he’s been misrepresented.” Usher’s history with Diddy goes back to his teenage years when he lived with the Bad Boy Records founder in New York to learn about the music industry.
He credits that time for teaching him discipline and sharp business skills that helped shape his own career. Diddy, meanwhile, is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence on prostitution-related charges and is facing multiple civil lawsuits. Usher’s decision to defend him comes at a time when public opinion is heavily focused on these controversies.
Although 50 Cent is well-known for his trolling and provocative posts, not everyone in the industry shares a critical view of him. Mary J. Blige, who worked with 50 Cent on the hit series Power Book II: Ghost, praised his professionalism in an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood.
She called him a “great boss” and an excellent collaborator, joking that while she enjoys being on his good side, she knows how “lethal” he can be to those who cross him. Outside of these social media exchanges, 50 Cent is busy with major business ventures.
He recently announced a $100 million deal with Robert Earl to launch PH Live, a new entertainment hub in Times Square expected to open later this year. Fans can expect more from both artists in the coming months as they continue navigating music, business, and media.
50 Cent’s trolling and Usher’s thoughtful defense of his mentor have already sparked plenty of debate among followers, and they can’t wait to see how the case unfolds in the future.
