50 New Movies and Shows Hit Netflix This Week — Full List For May Revealed

May is shaping up to be a busy month for Netflix, with a large mix of new shows, films, and live events landing on the service. According to the official release schedule and platform announcements, this week alone brings a wide range of fresh content, from returning series to brand-new originals and adaptations.

One of the biggest highlights is a new TV adaptation of Lord of the Flies, arriving on May 4. The story has been turned into a four-part miniseries written by Jack Thorne, focusing on a group of schoolboys stranded on an island who try to build their own society after a plane crash.

British content is also a strong part of this month’s lineup. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder returns for its second season on May 27, with Emma Myers back in the lead role. Another new addition, Legends, brings a darker crime story set in 1990s Britain and arrives on May 7.

Animation fans also have plenty to look forward to. Devil May Cry returns for season 2 on May 12, while a new adult animated comedy called Mating Season debuts later in the month.

Netflix is also adding new films, including the fantasy body-swap adventure Swapped and the comedy Ladies First, both part of its May lineup.

Live programming is expanding too, with a comedy roast featuring Kevin Hart and a planned MMA event involving Ronda Rousey.
