Chris Hemsworth Finally Opens Up About ‘Thor 5’
Chris Hemsworth has finally shared some thoughts about the future of Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and fans are buzzing about what could come next.
There have been a lot of whispers lately about Marvel projects in the works, and one of the loudest rumors is about Thor 5. Nothing has been confirmed, but the talk has only gotten stronger over the past year.
Back in 2023, director Taika Waititi was asked if he would return for another Thor film. At the time, he brushed it off and explained that it wasn’t really on his schedule, which left many fans feeling relieved since reactions to Thor: Love and Thunder were mixed.
Later, when Chris Hemsworth teamed up with George Miller on Furiosa, new rumors popped up suggesting Miller could be eyed to direct the next Thor movie. Of course, nothing ever came of it.
Now, Hemsworth himself has spoken to BBC and finally given an update, though it wasn’t a clear answer. When asked if Thor 5 is happening, Hemsworth said:
“I don’t know. We’ll see where [Avengers: Doomsday] goes. We’re sort of unpacking all of that as we speak and figuring out where each of these characters go.”
He also talked about returning for the upcoming Avengers movie, which is officially confirmed.
“When we parted ways on the last film we didn’t know if we were going to be doing this again and here we are. Some of the old crew like myself, and then a lot of the new folks are coming in. It’s wild.”
Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday is set to release in the United States on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase Six. Its sequel, Secret Wars, is planned for December 17, 2027.
According to the official premise, the movie will bring together the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and even the original X-Men to face Doctor Doom.
Fans are already excited at the thought of seeing Hemsworth’s Thor back in action, and many are hoping he will share the screen with Tom Hiddleston’s Loki once again.
