The upcoming season will adapt the Culling Game arc from Gege Akutami’s manga. This storyline continues directly after the Shibuya events from Season 2, where Suguru Geto’s plan released countless cursed spirits.
Because of that chaos, new fighters with awakened powers are stepping into the fight, creating even more challenges for Yuji Itadori and the other sorcerers.
Season 3 will be titled Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 1 and will showcase a deadly tournament that forces both new and returning characters into dangerous battles. Yuta Okkotsu, first seen in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, will play an important role as he joins the fight again.
At the same time, the arc introduces several new characters who will be key players in the twisted competition.
The anime, produced by MAPPA, has built a reputation for its high-quality animation and intense storytelling. Season 2 especially pushed the series to new levels of popularity, and fans have been eager to see how the team will handle the next major arc. The new season is expected to continue that momentum with even bigger fights and darker turns.
The timing of Season 3 is also significant. The manga ended its run in Weekly Shonen Jump last year, which means the anime is now the only way fans can enjoy new content from the series. This return is the first time audiences will experience fresh material since the manga’s conclusion, making the anticipation even greater.
The Culling Game arc is also known to set up many of the final battles in Jujutsu Kaisen’s story. For longtime readers, it’s a turning point that pushes the series toward its climax, and for anime-only viewers, it will be their first glimpse at how big the conflicts are about to become.
The wait for Season 3 is long, but the payoff should be worth it. The Culling Game is one of the most action-packed arcs in the manga, and if MAPPA delivers on the same level as Season 2, this could easily be the anime’s biggest season yet.
