‘Minnie’s Bow-Toons: Pet Hotel’ (2025)

Disney Television Animation

Minnie and Daisy open a full-service pet hotel—complete with spa time, play zones, and Clarabelle Cow’s wellness activities—while Cuckoo-Loca helps keep everything running smoothly. New shorts from this ‘Minnie’s Bow-Toons’ banner arrive on Disney+ on Tuesday, September 2. The current run is produced by Disney Television Animation, with Tom Rogers and Rachel Ruderman steering the show’s latest season. Voice performances feature Kaitlyn Robrock as Minnie, Tress MacNeille as Daisy, April Winchell as Clarabelle Cow, and Nika Futterman as Cuckoo-Loca.

The ‘Pet Hotel’ iteration began its rollout in May on Disney Jr. and Disney Channel before additional episodes moved to Disney+; the series’ short-form format (typically a few minutes per episode) makes it an easy watch for preschoolers. Disney lists the new wave for early September in the U.S., aligning with the September 2 date.

‘Lilo & Stitch’ (2025)

Walt Disney Pictures

The live-action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ streams on Disney+ on Wednesday, September 3. The film follows a young girl in Hawaiʻi who adopts what she thinks is a dog—Stitch, a genetically engineered experiment—setting off a story about family and belonging. Dean Fleischer Camp directs from a screenplay by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes, with Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich producing. Cast includes Maia Kealoha as Lilo and Sydney Agudong as Nani, while original creator Chris Sanders reprises the voice of Stitch; Zach Galifianakis appears as Jumba and Billy Magnussen as Pleakley. The movie is rated PG with a runtime of 1 hour 48 minutes.

The 2025 feature reimagines Disney’s 2002 animated film and incorporates elements familiar to fans of the sequels and series. After its theatrical bow in May, Disney confirmed the Disney+ streaming debut for September 3. Additional credited roles include Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles and returns by legacy performers in new capacities, reflecting how the production blends new talent with franchise veterans.

‘Road Trip’ (2020)

'Road Trip' (2020)
TNT España

Arriving on Disney+ Friday, September 5, ‘Road Trip’ refers to the National Geographic father-and-son travel docuseries known on the service as ‘Rogue Trip’. Across six episodes, journalist Bob Woodruff and his son, Mack, visit places often overlooked by tourists—such as Colombia, Papua New Guinea, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Lebanon, and Ukraine—spotlighting everyday life, culture, and the people they meet along the way. The series is a National Geographic production created for Disney+, with all episodes originally premiering together.

Episodes blend on-the-ground reporting with travelogue storytelling, reflecting Woodruff’s years of international coverage and the duo’s shared perspective. National Geographic’s materials and Disney press notes outline the locations and photojournalism-style approach that frame the season.

A24

Spike Lee’s reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s ‘High and Low’ lands on Apple TV+ on Friday, September 5 after a theatrical run with A24. The film stars Denzel Washington alongside Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, and A$AP Rocky, with cinematography by Matthew Libatique and editing by Barry Alexander Brown and Allyson C. Johnson; it runs 133 minutes.

The project marks another collaboration between Lee and Washington and is produced by Apple Original Films with A24, Escape Artists, Mandalay Pictures, and 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks. It premiered out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2025, opened in U.S. theaters on August 15, and streams on Apple TV+ starting September 5.
