Raymond Cruz, best known for playing Tuco Salamanca in the hit series Breaking Bad, was arrested in Los Angeles after an unusual incident involving a garden hose.

According to law enforcement sources who spoke to TMZ, police were called after a girl claimed Cruz sprayed her with water on purpose. The actor was washing his car outside his home in Silverlake when the girl reportedly got in the way.

A source told TMZ that Cruz asked her to move, but when she didn’t, she was sprayed. She believed he did it intentionally and reported it to the police.

Cruz was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery and taken into custody. Since it’s a misdemeanor, the case will go through the L.A. City Attorney’s office. At this point, no charges have been filed. In similar cases, the City Attorney sometimes holds a hearing instead of pressing charges, with outcomes like a warning or anger management classes.

Later in the day, Cruz was released on his own recognizance. He is expected to appear in court on October 1, TMZ reports.

The arrest quickly drew reactions from fans online. Many thought the whole thing was overblown. One fan wrote, “This has to be the most ridiculous arrest ever.” Another said, “Glad to know that our hardworking tax payers money is used to arrest guys with water hoses.”

Others questioned why the situation even escalated to police action. One comment read, “What a crock of s***!!!!! Oh you assaulted me because I got wet with the hose. Come on!!!!! Waste of cops time and resources.” Another added, “He got arrested for assault… for spraying someone with a garden hose? Don’t get me wrong, some hoses pack a wallop, but I doubt the guy was washing his car with a firehose. What a joke.”

While the case is still pending, the debate among fans shows many think the arrest was unnecessary and a waste of time. The court hearing in October will decide what happens next.
