According to Crunchyroll’s U.S. Top 10 chart on September 24, One Piece fell to ninth place, overtaken by eight other anime that are currently capturing viewers’ attention.

The series, which usually dominates with its massive fanbase and ongoing hype, saw its usual top spot taken by newer or trending shows.

The top of the chart was led by Gachiakuta, followed by Kaiju No. 8 and The Water Magician in second and third places.

Even major hits like Jujutsu Kaisen and Dan Da Dan managed to surpass Luffy and the Straw Hats. “This isn’t just a one-day slip,” fans pointed out online, noting that One Piece had already dropped out of the top five the previous day as well. Two consecutive days of lower rankings suggest the series is facing a slowdown in momentum.

Other anime making waves in the top 10 included Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince So I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability, and Solo Leveling.

These shows are benefiting from fresh storylines, strong animation, and active fan engagement, which has helped them capture both critical and audience attention.

Many of these newer series have been praised for their high-quality animation, engaging characters, and creative world-building. Kaiju No. 8, for example, has been noted for its exciting action sequences and unique take on monster-fighting, while The Water Magician has impressed audiences with both its visuals and emotional storytelling. Jujutsu Kaisen continues to receive acclaim for its character development and fight choreography, maintaining its position as one of the most talked-about anime of the year.

This shift in the Crunchyroll rankings highlights how competitive the anime landscape has become, even for long-running juggernauts like One Piece. While the series remains hugely popular and has a devoted fanbase, newer titles with fresh narratives are currently stealing some of the spotlight.

This shows that anime fans are always looking for something new and exciting, even if it means temporarily leaving behind beloved classics. One Piece will likely regain some momentum as new arcs release, but the current rankings show just how dynamic and unpredictable the anime world can be.
