Disney+ to Add Hulu Streaming Service Internationally – Here’s When
Disney has announced that Hulu will officially join Disney+ internationally on October 8. The new brand will replace Star on Disney+ in the UK and across the EMEA region, joining Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic.
Disney confirmed that all existing Star content will remain available under Hulu. Subscribers will still have access to shows like High Potential, Only Murders in the Building, FX’s Alien: Earth, A Thousand Blows, Rivals, Flintoff, Grey’s Anatomy, and Modern Family. Upcoming titles such as All’s Fair, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 3, and A Thousand Blows Season 2 will also be added to Hulu, according to Disney.
The move marks Hulu’s first major international expansion. Disney plans to turn the service into a “global general entertainment brand.” The company previously confirmed its plans earlier this year after buying Comcast’s stake in Hulu, giving Disney full control of the U.S. streamer.
In the United States, the standalone Hulu app is expected to disappear eventually, though it will remain operational at least through 2026. Hulu content in the U.S. is also being integrated into Disney+, making it easier for subscribers to access everything in one place.
Disney said it has also added new design and navigation features to the Hulu app as part of the international rollout. These updates are part of a broader redesign of Disney+ planned for next year. The changes come just ahead of Disney’s streaming price increase in the U.S., which starts on October 21.
The shift is seen as a major step in Disney’s strategy to streamline its streaming offerings and make Hulu a central hub for general entertainment worldwide.
