Prime Video is building out the cast of its new biblical series Joseph of Egypt. According to Deadline, six actors have been added to the lineup.

The newcomers are Alexa Mansour, Shila Ommi, Christopher Maleki, Alonso Rappa, Johnny Visotcky, and Jay Abdo.

They will all appear in recurring roles. Mansour will play Asenath, Ommi is set as Senebsen, Maleki will take on Potiphar, Rappa is playing Benjamin, Visotcky is Zebulun, and Abdo will appear as Bastis.

The show tells the story of Joseph, played by Adam Hamshi. Joseph is betrayed by his brothers, sold away, and later rises to a position of power in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh. But when he comes face to face with his past, his journey takes a difficult turn.

The series is written and executive produced by Craig Wright, who also acts as showrunner. It is being co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios along with 5&2 Studios, led by Dallas Jenkins, the creator of The Chosen, according to Deadline.

The main cast also includes Alexander Siddig as Jacob, Babak Tafti as Simeon, Daniel Peera as Reuben, and Iris Bahr as Leah. Other familiar faces rounding out the large ensemble are Dakota Shapiro, Amir Malaklou, Navid Negahban, and Omid Abtahi, among many others.

Each of the new cast members comes with an impressive background. Mansour is best known for starring as Hope Bennett on AMC’s The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Ommi has a major role in Apple TV+’s Tehran.

Maleki has appeared in shows such as Homeland, Scandal, and The Chosen. Rappa was recently featured on AMC’s Dark Winds. Visotcky has built a career across television and theater, and Abdo has worked in films alongside Nicole Kidman and Tom Hanks.
