Jonah Hill has shocked fans with a dramatic new look while filming his upcoming comedy, Cut Off, in Los Angeles.

The actor, who is also directing and co-writing the project, appeared noticeably slimmer on set, sporting blond hair and a beard. Hill, 41, was seen alongside Kristen Wiig, 52, both dressed in bright, playful costumes for the day’s shoot.

Cut Off follows a pair of spoiled twins whose wealthy parents cut them off from financial support. Bette Midler and Nathan Lane play their parents, adding star power to the ensemble cast. Hill and Wiig portray the adult children forced to navigate life without their usual luxuries.

The film is set to be released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on July 17, 2026. Hill announced in March 2025 that he would take on multiple roles in the project, including director, producer, co-writer, and lead actor. Wiig joined the cast in August, with Midler and Lane coming on board as filming began in late September in California.

Hill has a history of transforming his appearance for roles and has previously spoken about feeling body-shamed while in the public eye.

In a 2021 Instagram post, he asked fans to avoid commenting on his body. “I know you mean well but I kindly ask that you not comment on my body,” he wrote. “Good or bad I want to politely let you know it’s not helpful and doesn’t feel good. Much respect.”

Fans are already reacting to Hill’s latest transformation, with many expressing surprise at how different he looks for this role. Cut Off promises a mix of humor, star-studded performances, and Hill’s unique take on comedy, making it one of the most anticipated films of 2026.
