Battlefield 6 has kicked off with a massive launch, selling an impressive 7 million copies in just its first three days.

This makes it the best opening in the franchise’s history, according to a press release from EA. The game’s release has been described as “record-shattering” and “explosive,” with Battlefield lead Vince Zampella calling it “momentous.”

“We never take moments like this for granted, so I want to express our sincere gratitude to our global Battlefield Studios and passionate community that has helped get us to this point,” Zampella said. “We appreciate you joining us for Battlefield 6’s momentous launch. We have so much more to come in the weeks ahead.”

The opening weekend numbers show strong engagement from players. Fans played over 172 million matches and spent more than 15 million hours watching gameplay streams. On Steam, Battlefield 6 reached a peak of 747,440 concurrent players. Numbers from consoles aren’t publicly available, but the launch is already being called a major success.

Battlefield 6 first launched on October 10 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The BF Studios team has been actively communicating with players, delivering frequent hotfixes to address feedback and improve the game’s experience.

Looking ahead, the game’s first season is set to arrive on October 28. Season 1 will introduce the Rogue Ops update, a new map called Blackwell Fields, and a 4v4 mode. The strong launch of Battlefield 6 comes after the mixed reception of Battlefield 2042 and is expected to increase competition with this year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which launches on November 14.

Battlefield 6’s launch shows that the franchise has bounced back in a big way. Selling 7 million copies in three days is a huge achievement and proves that fans are excited to jump back into the series. It will be interesting to see how the game continues to grow with new updates and seasons.
