‘Dragon Ball Super’ Could Make a Comeback After Nearly Seven Years
Fans of Dragon Ball Super may finally see the anime back on TV in April 2026, almost seven years after the last season ended.
ScreenRant reports that the comeback might be announced during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event in Los Angeles, set for April 19–20.
The last time Dragon Ball Super aired on television was in May 2018, when the Tournament of Power Saga concluded. Since then, the franchise has focused on movies like Dragon Ball Super: Broly and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, as well as the recent Dragon Ball Daima anime.
Akio Iyoku, the executive producer of Dragon Ball, has hinted at more anime projects. After Dragon Ball Daima, he said the team is “working hard to move various things forward” and confirmed that Dragon Ball will continue.
The Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour is an annual event that usually highlights games from the franchise. However, in the past, it has also been used to share news about the anime, including announcements about Dragon Ball Daima.
The official event page says they will share “the latest information and appeal of ‘Dragon Ball,’ which continues to be developed in multiple forms including the original manga, anime, movies, games, figures, and toys, to fans around the world.”
While there is no official confirmation yet, fans are hopeful that the event could include news about Dragon Ball Super’s return. Until then, supporters of the series will have to wait for official updates from Toei Animation.
