Fans got their first look at Sadie Sink on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The movie is the next Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It will be the 38th film in the MCU and the fourth Spider-Man movie after No Way Home (2021). Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios are making the film, and Sony Pictures Releasing will distribute it.

Destin Daniel Cretton is directing, and the script is by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III are all part of the cast. It’s not clear yet which character Sadie Sink will play.

Filming started on August 3, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland. The team used the working title Blue Oasis. Brett Pawlak, who worked with Cretton before, is the cinematographer.

The Jackie Chan Stunt Team, known for Shang-Chi, coordinated the fight scenes. The start of filming was pushed back a little to fit Holland’s schedule because he was filming The Odyssey first.

Glasgow’s city center was used to film scenes that are supposed to look like New York. Holland said he was happy to shoot on location again. He told fans it felt like Homecoming, after No Way Home was mostly filmed on soundstages during COVID. He also said he was glad fans could see the start of filming with the cast and crew.

Some set photos from Glasgow showed armored vehicles with a red demon logo. Bradley Russell from Total Film said the logo looked like the Inner Demons gang symbol from the comics, led by Mister Negative, and guessed that Mister Negative could appear in the movie. Paul Trainer at Glasgow World noticed a rhinoceros-shaped bust on set, like the Rhino from the comics.

Filming also happened at Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey, England, on August 7. Glasgow filming was extended until August 18 to shoot a commercial. Tramell Tillman joined the cast at the end of August. Most of the September filming happened on soundstages at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. Mark Ruffalo said at the start of September that he was “still waiting to hear” about his role and had not seen a script yet.

On September 19, Holland got a mild concussion during a stunt at Pinewood. The crew paused filming until September 29 so he could recover. The pause wasn’t expected to change the release date.

Around that time, it was revealed that Marvin Jones III would play Lonnie Lincoln / Tombstone, a character he had voiced in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). Some filming also happened in Basingstoke, England, with Holland’s stunt doubles. Holland and Michael Mando joined the filming in early October.

Even though Sadie Sink is on set, her role is still unknown. Fans are excited and speculating about who she might play, but Marvel and Sony haven’t said anything yet.
