Sydney Sweeney Turns Heads in NSFW See-Through Dress at Variety’s Power Of Women Red Carpet
Sydney Sweeney turned heads on the red carpet at Variety’s “Power of Women” event on Wednesday, October 29. The 28-year-old actress wore a sheer silver gown that showed off her figure.
She kept her look simple with minimal jewelry and neutral makeup, and her blonde hair was styled in a sleek bob with a side part.
Sweeney recently debuted a new hairstyle at the AFI Fest premiere of her movie Christy on October 25.
For that event, her platinum hair was curled and parted in the middle, and she wore a pastel-pink Miu Miu halter dress. Her colorist, Jacob Schwartz, told Vogue that the star had been “looking for a change.”

He explained, “She wanted to have a big hair moment for the red carpet to support her new movie, Christy. It felt like the perfect time to do something bold.” Meanwhile, Sweeney’s longtime hairstylist, Glen Coco, said her transformation for the film inspired a new real-life look.
“She dramatically transformed herself to play boxer Christy Martin,” he said. “I wanted to morph her into this updated version of herself in real life. Something new and fresh to close out the rest of the year.”
For her role as Christy Martin, Sweeney gained 30 pounds. She told Vanity Fair in September that her body changed a lot during filming. “I didn’t fit in any of my clothes,” she said. “I’m usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, ‘Oh, my god.’”
She added that she was proud of the work and described the experience as “amazing.” “I was so strong, like crazy strong,” she said.
Sweeney is also embracing her confident image as she promotes the film. In an interview with Variety, she said, “I play a lot of very divisive characters, and I think that a lot of people think they know me, but they don’t. So when people think, ‘Ah, she’s a sex symbol,’ or ‘She’s leaning into that,’ I’m like, ‘No, I just feel good and I’m doing it for myself and I feel strong.’”
She added, “I hope that I can inspire other women to be confident and just flaunt what they got and feel good because you shouldn’t have to apologize or hide or cover up in any room.”
Through her recent red carpet looks and interviews, Sweeney is showing that she is confident, proud of her body, and focused on doing what makes her feel strong.
