Roblox Hit Mini-Game Set for Movie Adaptation

Story Kitchen is developing a movie based on the wildly popular Roblox game Grow a Garden. The production company, which specializes in adapting video games for film and television, is working closely with the game’s creators to bring the project to life.

Grow a Garden has become a massive hit since it launched in March. Players can grow gardens, trade crops, decorate their worlds, and take part in seasonal events.

The game has been played over 33 billion times and reached a peak of 22.3 million concurrent players in August, surpassing Fortnite’s record of 15.3 million. At one point this summer, it made up more than two-thirds of Roblox’s total active users.

Story Kitchen co-founders Dmitri M. Johnson and Michael Lawrence Goldberg said, “Grow a Garden is exactly the kind of imaginative, heartfelt world we love to adapt — an uplifting story-world rooted in play, creativity, and community.”

Details about the movie’s story are still under wraps, but it is expected to be a fun and emotional tale for audiences of all ages. Sources say it will focus on growth, friendship, and the magic of building something from the ground up, keeping the community-focused spirit of the game intact.
