Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Wows Fans in New 7-Minute Trailer
Nintendo has given fans a first real look at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the latest entry in the long-running Metroid Prime series.
A seven-minute trailer showcases Samus Aran exploring the alien planet Viewros, using her psychic powers and a new motorcycle called the Vi-0-La. Players also encounter Sylux, a rival bounty hunter who first appeared in Metroid Prime Hunters.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is being developed by Retro Studios for the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.

The game was first announced at E3 2017 and was initially in development at Bandai Namco Studios under Kensuke Tanabe, who produced the earlier Metroid Prime games. Nintendo later restarted development in 2019 with Retro Studios taking over, also under Tanabe’s guidance, to ensure the game matched the quality of previous entries.
The trailer shows gameplay similar to earlier Metroid Prime titles, with Samus leaving her gunship, exploring forested areas, scanning Space Pirates, and using her morph ball ability. The new psychic powers allow players to manipulate objects and guide shots in combat, adding a fresh element to the familiar first-person exploration.
On the Nintendo Switch 2, players can use the Joy-Con controller like a mouse, creating a more precise first-person shooter experience.
The game is scheduled for release on December 4, marking 18 years since the release of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
