South Korean entertainer Nana and her mother stopped a man who forced his way into their home in the city of Guri, according to several South Korean news outlets. Police say the man, who is in his 30s, came into the house with a weapon and threatened the two women. Officers later confirmed that he was trying to steal valuables.

Nana’s agency told local media that she and her mother were able to hold the intruder down until police reached the scene. During the struggle, her mother passed out and needed medical care afterward. Reports also say Nana was treated for minor injuries. The intruder was taken to a hospital as well before being placed under arrest.

A detective who spoke to AFP said the suspect is now facing aggravated robbery charges. Local reports say he demanded money from the women before they managed to overpower him and call the authorities.

Nana became well known in 2009 as a member of the K-pop group After School. The group has since stopped performing, but she went on to build a career as an actor in television dramas, including crime series released in 2019.
