Kevin Costner Takes on the President: Set to Portray Bill Clinton In a Series About the United Nations
Kevin Costner is reportedly in talks to play former President Bill Clinton in a new political drama series called United. The series is in the early stages of development and will be made in collaboration with the United Nations. Sources say Costner will also serve as an executive producer, along with Leonardo DiCaprio.
The show will focus on real-life stories of courage and dedication by people working to improve the world. “It will show heroism and perseverance by humanitarians in pursuit of making the world a better place for all,” according to sources. David Raymond, who directed Night Hunter, has been chosen to write and direct the series.
Production companies attached to the project include Appian Way, Onwards Studios, and Prime Focus DNEG, with Fifth Season set to distribute the series.
Costner has been busy with several projects recently. He directed, co-wrote, produced, and starred in Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1, the first part of a planned four-part epic about the American frontier. Chapter 1 premiered at Cannes in 2024, and the second chapter was shown at Venice last year, though a release date has not yet been announced.
The actor is also well-known for his role as John Dutton in the hit TV series Yellowstone, which ran for five seasons until 2024. Costner won a Golden Globe for the role but left the series partway through its final season.
Upcoming projects for Costner include Honeymoon with Harry, the next chapter in his frontier saga, and Headhunters.
