Hugh Jackman has once again teased the possibility of returning as Wolverine in future Avengers movies, keeping fans guessing about what’s next for the iconic character.

With Marvel preparing big releases for 2026, including Avengers: Doomsday, speculation about Wolverine and Deadpool’s appearances has been running high. Fans want to know who will take on Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, but Marvel has been very careful to avoid spoilers.

Jackman recently addressed the question while promoting his new film, Song Sung Blue, alongside Kate Hudson.

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, he joked about the topic while hinting that he hasn’t closed the door on the role. “Maybe. I’m never saying ‘never’ ever again,” Jackman said. “…I have done 10 films now, so I think they have enough for an AI version of me.”

This isn’t the first time Jackman has been asked about Wolverine joining Marvel’s upcoming releases.

In May, he appeared on The View and gave another careful non-answer. “I can’t say much… I really have nothing to add, and if I did, I would find a really cool way to not say it, but I actually have nothing to add,” he told the hosts, leaving fans to read between the lines.

Even Evangeline Lilly, who played Wasp in the Ant-Man films and Avengers: Endgame, added fuel to the speculation in July when she teased a possible team-up with Jackman’s Wolverine.

It’s easy to understand why fans are eager to see Jackman return. He has played Wolverine for more than two decades, starting with X-Men in 2000. Over 24 years, he has appeared as the character in 10 movies, including X2: X-Men United, The Wolverine, Logan, and most recently Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024.

Whether Wolverine will appear again and make it an 11th film is still unknown, and fans will likely have to wait until Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026, to get a definitive answer.
