Zack Snyder Gives Fans a New Look at Ben Affleck in ‘Batman V. Superman’
Zack Snyder is giving fans a rare look behind the scenes of his films on Instagram. Since joining the platform a few months ago, he has been sharing images from his past projects, and his latest post caught attention with a Polaroid of Ben Affleck in the Batman suit.
The photo was taken during the filming of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Snyder captioned it, “Leica monochrome hard suit test BvS.”

Affleck portrayed Batman in Batman v Superman and later appeared in Suicide Squad and Justice League. While fans praised his performance, the role came with challenges. Affleck has spoken about how difficult filming Justice League was.
After Snyder had to step away following the tragic death of his daughter, Joss Whedon took over to finish the movie. Reports indicated tension on set and creative disagreements. Critics, including Todd McCarthy of The Hollywood Reporter, noted that Affleck sometimes seemed disconnected, saying he “seemed like he’d rather be anywhere else.”
Following Justice League, Affleck decided to step back from both acting in and directing The Batman. He said he needed time to find the right story and focus on himself. During this break, he also addressed his struggles with alcohol and worked on his recovery.
Snyder’s Instagram post brings fans back to the excitement of seeing Affleck in the Batman suit for the first time. It’s a simple behind-the-scenes glimpse that reminds viewers of a role that sparked both admiration and debate.
