‘South Park’ Roasts Pete Hegseth as a Department of War Influencer
The newest season of South Park has been taking aim at several people in Donald Trump’s administration. One person who had not been targeted until now was Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. That changed in the latest Thanksgiving episode called “Turkey Trot.”
In the episode, Hegseth is shown as someone who is addicted to Instagram Reels. He is sent to South Park under Trump’s orders to rescue tech billionaire Peter Thiel, who had been arrested earlier in the season. Trump tells him, “Don’t just make a bunch of content. Like, actually go and do something.”
While this is happening, the people of South Park are getting ready for a 5k Turkey Trot. The race is sponsored by Saudi Arabia, and the only rule is that no one is allowed to say anything negative about the Saudi Royal Family.
Cartman brings Token onto his team because he wants to win the $5,000 prize. Cartman calls himself a “racing scientist” and claims that Token’s race always wins races, poking fun at the rise of race-based pseudoscience in certain political groups.
Things get more chaotic when Hegseth arrives in town. He sees the race and wrongly assumes it is some kind of Antifa attack. He quickly starts livestreaming the chaos. Soon after, Kristi Noem, who is shown as the Director of Homeland Security, steps in. She ends up sh***** a dog, a moment that appears to reference a story in her own memoir that became controversial during the 2024 election.
By the end of the episode, Hegseth completely fails his mission to rescue Thiel and ends up jailed right next to him.
