Josh Brolin Opens Up About Knowing Donald Trump Before the Presidency: “Iām Not Scared of Trump”
Josh Brolin recently shared his thoughts on Donald Trump, recalling the time they knew each other before Trump became president. In an interview with The Independent, Brolin said that having been a friend of Trumpās gives him a different perspective on the president.
āIām not scared of Trump, because even though he says heās staying forever, itās just not going to happen,ā Brolin said. āAnd if it does, then Iāll deal with that moment. But having been a friend of Trump before he was president, I know a different guy.ā
Brolin first met Trump around 2010 during the making of Oliver Stoneās film Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Trump was originally supposed to appear in the movie, but his scenes were cut. Brolin said he was fascinated by Trumpās early business ventures, especially his efforts to build major developments in difficult areas during the late 1970s.
Looking at Trumpās time as president, Brolin described his leadership style as āpower unmitigated.ā Despite this, he praised Trumpās marketing skills, saying, āThere is no greater genius than him in marketing ā he takes the weakness of the general population and fills it. And thatās why I think a lot of people feel that they have a mascot in him. I think itās much less about Trump than it is about the general population and their need for validation.ā
Brolin also expressed confidence that Trump will not attempt a third term in office, a topic that has been discussed in some political circles.
