A third Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem movie is already being talked about as Paramount plans the future of the Turtles franchise.

The studio is working with Neal H. Moritz, who produced Sonic the Hedgehog, to help develop a live-action Turtles movie. That film has already been scheduled for a Thanksgiving release on November 17, 2028.

At the same time, the TV side of the franchise has canceled the spin-off series connected to Seth Rogen’s Mutant Mayhem.

This led to some rumors that the animated sequel might face delays. However, sources say Paramount, which has spent around $40 million on Mutant Mayhem 2, is still committed to the project. The sequel is set to hit theaters in October 2027, and talks are already underway with Seth Rogen and his Point Grey company about a third installment.

The first Mutant Mayhem movie came out in 2023 as a fresh animated take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It was directed by Jeff Rowe, who co-wrote the film with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and writers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit.

The cast includes Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon as the Turtles, with Ayo Edebiri, Maya Rudolph, John Cena, Rogen, Rose Byrne, Natasia Demetriou, Giancarlo Esposito, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, and Paul Rudd in supporting roles. The story focused on the Turtles trying to fit in while taking on a new villain, Superfly, and his mutant gang.

Even before the first film came out, the sequel had been approved. This second movie will feature the Shredder as the main villain, who was teased at the end of the first film. Jeff Rowe is returning as director with co-directors Spears and Kassai.

Point Grey is producing again, with Rogen, Goldberg, Weaver, Josh Fagen, and Ramsay McBean listed as producers. The sequel was originally planned for October 2026 but has been moved to September 17, 2027.

It looks like the Turtles are far from done on the big screen. With a second movie confirmed and a third being discussed, fans have a lot to look forward to.
