A new clip from the upcoming slasher film Silent Night, Deadly Night shows Santa Claus taking a violent turn—this time targeting Nazis.

The movie, directed and written by Mike P. Nelson, is the latest remake of the original 1984 horror classic and is set to hit theaters on December 12.

Silent Night, Deadly Night follows Billy Chapman, played by Rohan Campbell, and features a supporting cast including Ruby Modine, David Lawrence Brown, David Tomlinson, and Mark Acheson. The story continues the long-running horror series, marking the seventh overall installment and the second remake after the 2012 version, Silent Night.

The film first debuted at Fantastic Fest on September 21, with a secret screening that drew attention for its bold and violent premise. Fans can look forward to the theatrical release later this year through Cineverse, while StudioCanal’s Sixth Dimension will handle international distribution in countries like the U.K., France, Germany, and Australia.

Production for the remake officially began in early 2025, with filming taking place in Winnipeg and nearby locations such as Selkirk, Carman, Stonewall, and Steinbach. The project was financed by Bondit Media Capital and the Royal Bank of Canada. Nelson, known for his work on Wrong Turn, joined as writer and director in late 2024, bringing a new vision to the franchise while keeping it close to the original material.

The movie has already received a positive reception from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, 88% of reviews from 17 critics were favorable, suggesting the film may resonate with horror fans despite its controversial and bloody premise.

Silent Night, Deadly Night promises a mix of holiday cheer and intense horror, offering audiences a unique twist on the classic Santa Claus story. It’s a bold, violent take that blends nostalgia with modern slasher sensibilities.
