Now that Alien: Earth is confirmed for a second season on FX and Hulu, fans have been wondering if the series might eventually connect with the Predator universe.

Showrunner Noah Hawley recently addressed the possibility during an interview on the SmartLess podcast, putting those hopes to rest, for now.

“No, not onto the show, I don’t think,” Hawley said when asked about a potential Predator crossover. He went on to praise Dan Trachtenberg, who directed Prey and worked on Predator: Badlands. “I mean, I think Dan Trachtenberg… I loved ‘Prey.’ I think he’s doing a great job with that franchise. He clearly has a plan there. You know, I’ve met Dan once. We are not kind of coordinating any of that stuff, so it’s not really my plan to do it.”

Although Hawley isn’t planning to bring in Predator characters or storylines, he did give fans insight into what Season 2 will explore.

The show picks up with Wendy (played by Sydney Chandler) and her team after the first season’s finale. Hawley said the focus will be on showing the consequences of Wendy’s new power and the obstacles she will face.

“That moment of, ‘Now we rule,’ is such an exhilarating moment for the audience. And then the question is… well, it was an exhilarating moment when Dustin Hoffman ran out of the church and they got on the bus [in The Graduate]. But what comes after?” he told Empire. “The [Weyland-Yutani] ships are coming, and all they have is problems.”

Hawley also teased more world-building in the series, focusing on corporate politics and the role of powerful companies as the new rulers of society. “There’s a bit of ‘Game of Thrones’ to the corporate world that feels interesting to me,” he said. Yet at the center of the story is Wendy and the children she leads. Hawley emphasized that the show will continue to explore autonomy and survival, all within the Alien universe’s signature tension and danger.

Set in 2120, two years before the events of the original 1979 film, Alien: Earth features five major corporations, Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold, competing for control. When a mysterious space vessel crashes on Earth, Wendy and a group of tactical soldiers make a horrifying discovery that could change the planet forever.
