Lenny Kravitz Set to Play Bond Villain
Lenny Kravitz is stepping into the world of James Bond. The musician has been cast as the villain Bawma in the upcoming video game 007: First Light, which was revealed at the Game Awards.
Kravitz described his character as “the largest black-market dealer in the Western Hemisphere who’s as charismatic as he is unpredictable. He rose from nothing, broke free, and built his own Kingdom of Aleph.”
The game introduces Bawma as a major threat to a young James Bond, played by Patrick Gibson, who portrays a 26-year-old version of the spy.
I’ll be bringing the character of Bawma to life in 007 First Light. @007gameIOI

007: First Light is a story-driven action-adventure game that reimagines Bond’s origin story. Players will follow the young MI6 agent as he completes the mission that earns him his 00 status. The game also reimagines classic Bond characters such as M, Q, and Miss Moneypenny, as well as introducing new figures like MI6 mentor John Greenway (Lennie James), DGSE agent Miss Roth (Noémie Nakai), and Selina Tan (Gemma Chan).
The game is being developed by IO Interactive, known for the Hitman series. It follows a long hiatus of James Bond video games after Activision lost its license to produce them. The developers have promised a modernized approach, updating elements of Bond’s character to better align with today’s audiences.
Fans will also see iconic gadgets and vehicles in the game, including an unreleased Omega watch and the Aston Martin Valhalla, both redesigned for gameplay.
007: First Light is set to launch on March 27, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
