Jennifer Lopez had a major year in her career. She starred in Kiss of the Spider Woman, a film adaptation of the Broadway musical directed by Bill Condon.
The movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where critics praised Lopez’s performance. The role marked her first time leading a full musical film, a part Condon reportedly wrote with her in mind. Lopez also released a new song titled Birthday on her 56th birthday.
Emily Blunt is coming off a strong run of projects. She recently appeared in The Smashing Machine, a sports drama directed by Benny Safdie and starring Dwayne Johnson.
The film received positive reviews, and Blunt earned a Golden Globe nomination. She is set to appear next in a new science fiction film directed by Steven Spielberg and will also return as Emily Charlton in The Devil Wears Prada 2, which is scheduled for release in 2026.
Elle Fanning appeared in the video game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and also contributed to its soundtrack alongside artist Woodkid. She also starred in the drama Sentimental Value, which is set to compete at the Cannes Film Festival, and appeared in the science fiction film Predator: Badlands. Looking ahead, Fanning will play Effie Trinket in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel film.
Sydney Sweeney starred in the biopic Christy, where she played boxer Christy Martin and also served as a producer. The film earned strong reviews but struggled financially. Still, Sweeney said the project mattered deeply to her.
“I am so deeply proud of this movie,” she said. “We don’t always just make art for numbers, we make it for impact.”
Gwyneth Paltrow is set to star in Marty Supreme, a table tennis drama directed by Josh Safdie and featuring Timothée Chalamet. The film is scheduled for release in a week.
Tessa Thompson starred in the title role and also worked as a producer on the film Hedda, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, where critics responded positively. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film was praised for Thompson’s performance and her collaboration with director Nia DaCosta. Thompson has since earned several award nominations for the role.
