After months of anticipation, One Piece fans finally got a first look at the long-awaited Elbaf Island arc.

The main anime series revealed the trailer and announced its official release date during the Jump Festa 2026 event. The panel at the event included the anime’s main cast, such as Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy), Kazuya Nakai (Zoro), Akemi Okamura (Nami), Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp), Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji), Ikue Otani (Chopper), Yuriko Yamaguchi (Robin), Subaru Kimura (Franky), Cho (Brook), and Katsuhisa Houki (Jinbe), according to reports from the event.

Toei Animation confirmed that the Elbaf arc will start airing in Japan on April 5, 2026. The new story will pick up after the Egghead arc concludes this month, following a three-month break. The studio also plans to adapt one manga chapter per episode for this arc. Fans can now watch the trailer and check out the new key visual for Elbaf, giving a first glimpse of the upcoming episodes.

In addition to the new arc, One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda confirmed that a new anime movie is in development. However, Oda shared that he cannot reveal any details about the project yet. In a message delivered by the anime’s cast, he said, “I am not allowed to mention anything…because they’ll be really interested in the story.” No title, release window, or first look has been shared so far.

Earlier this year, One Piece anime producer Ryuta Koike confirmed that starting in 2026, the main anime series will air only 26 episodes per year. This change will make One Piece a seasonal anime for the first time since its debut in 1999, which saw the series airing most weeks with minimal breaks.
