First Look at ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Teaser and Poster Is Here
Marvel Studios has released the first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, and it brings back a familiar face.
Chris Evans is returning as Steve Rogers, the original Captain America. This is a major moment for fans, since the character stepped away from the spotlight after Avengers: Endgame.
The teaser focuses on Steve Rogers after years away from the MCU. He is shown living a quiet life, far from battles and missions.
The video confirms that Steve has started a family, which strongly suggests he spent many years in the past with Peggy Carter, played by Hayley Atwell. Fans last saw Steve choose to stay in another timeline so he could live a full life with her before returning as an older man to pass the Captain America shield to Sam Wilson, now played by Anthony Mackie.
The teaser ends with the message “Steve Rogers will return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’”. A countdown clock appears right after, marking the time until the film’s release on December 18, 2026. Variety also reports that Marvel plans to release more short teasers centered on other characters in the weeks ahead.

Steve’s return raises many questions. He never explained to Sam Wilson or Bucky Barnes what he did during his time away. Now, it seems possible that Steve always knew he would have to return. The film’s main threat is Doctor Doom, who will be played by Robert Downey Jr. in a surprising twist.
Avengers: Doomsday is the fifth Avengers movie and the 39th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a script by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. The cast includes many well-known MCU actors along with members of the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. The story brings together the Avengers, Wakandans, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and the X-Men as they face Doctor Doom.
The movie is set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU. A follow-up film, Avengers: Secret Wars, is already scheduled for release in December 2027.
