The first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday is finally online, giving fans everywhere a look at Chris Evans’ return as Steve Rogers.

The teaser originally played in front of theater screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash last Friday. According to reports, the short clip had already leaked online, so many fans had already seen it.

The teaser confirms what many had been expecting: Steve Rogers is back, and he now has a child. This marks a big return for the character, who seemed to have had a definitive ending in Avengers: Endgame.

The teaser is expected to be the first of four, with future clips focusing on Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, and a full-length teaser for the film. Leaks suggest Thor may be praying to Odin for the return of his daughter, Love, and Doctor Doom’s storyline could put Rogers Jr. in danger, especially given the hints from the Fantastic Four: First Steps post-credits scene.

The Russo Brothers have spoken about Evans’ comeback on Instagram. They explained their decision to bring Steve Rogers back, despite the character’s closure in Endgame. “The character that changed our lives. The story that brought us all here together. It was always going to come back to this…” they wrote.

Fans now have a clearer picture of how Avengers: Doomsday will reconnect the original characters while introducing new stakes for the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This move makes it one of the most anticipated films in recent memory.
