In a TikTok video, Lizzo responded to a fan who asked, “Hey this isn’t about tuna salad but how do you feel about Nicki Minaj?” She said she had looked into the situation and downplayed the importance of celebrity opinions on each other. “Celebrities’ opinions of other celebrities does not matter,” Lizzo explained, before discussing what she sees as a bigger trend.

Lizzo suggested that Minaj’s actions might be influenced more by money and opportunity than by political beliefs. She warned fans to prepare for surprises as public figures reveal unexpected political positions. “And you have to know that, like, there’s money behind everything. There are privileges behind every move people in these positions make and I’m not surprised,” she added.
