Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor in a new teaser for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. The clip gives fans a glimpse of the God of Thunder preparing for battle ahead of the film’s release on December 18, 2026.

In the teaser, Thor is shown kneeling and speaking to his father, Odin, asking for strength for the fight ahead and protection for his adoptive daughter, Love, played by Hemsworth’s real-life daughter India Rose Hemsworth. “Father, all my life, I’ve answered every call. To honor, duty, to war,” he says. “But now, fate has given me something I never sought. A child. A life, untouched by the storm.”

The teaser highlights Thor’s emotional side. He continues by asking for the strength “so that I may fight once more. Defeat one more enemy.” At the same time, he hopes Love does not inherit a warrior’s strength but instead “to teach her not battle but stillness. The kind I never knew.”

The trailer ends with a clock counting down to the movie’s release date, a style similar to a previous teaser featuring Chris Evans as Steve Rogers. Other teasers have already circulated online, including one with Evans and another featuring characters from the old X-Men films like Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Sir Ian McKellen’s Magneto.

Hemsworth was confirmed to return as Thor in March. Avengers: Doomsday is part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and its sequel, Secret Wars, is scheduled for December 17, 2027.
