Sydney Sweeney is known for pushing herself in tough roles, but one of her most serious injuries happened long before she became famous.

In a recent interview with W Magazine, the actress opened up about the scar near her eye and shared how it happened when she was a child. Sweeney said she was only 10 years old when she got hurt during a wakeboarding trip. While trying a trick on the water, things went wrong fast.

She explained that she attempted a spin after jumping the wake, but the board flipped up and hit her in the face instead. “I jumped the wake and I tried to do a 360,” she said. The accident caused a deep cut close to her eye and doctors had to use about 17 stitches. The mark is still visible today.

That wasn’t the only injury Sweeney talked about. She also shared that she tore her MCL while riding a dirt bike, which left another scar. On top of that, she recalled a moment while filming the movie Eden in Australia when she was bitten by an insect. The bite later turned into a raised scar. “It just turned into this crazy crater; then it scarred,” she said.

These experiences seem to reflect how she approaches her career now. Sweeney often takes on roles that require physical effort and intense preparation. She recently transformed her body to play boxer Christy Martin in the biopic Christy and handled many of the physical demands herself. She is also returning as Cassie Howard in HBO’s Euphoria and will appear in the upcoming thriller The Housemaid.

Even though she admits she has fears, including a fear of heights, she doesn’t let that stop her. “If something scares me,” Sweeney said, “then I’m going to do it.”

Sydney Sweeney’s story shows how tough and determined she really is. These scars are more than marks on her skin. They reflect her mindset and her willingness to take risks, both in life and in her work. What do you think about her approach to fear and challenges? Share your thoughts in the comments.
