NBC Pulls Law & Order: SVU Episode Featuring Timothy Busfield Before It Airs Following Horrific Allegations
NBC has decided not to air an upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU that features actor and director Timothy Busfield. The network pulled the episode after serious allegations against Busfield became public.
The episode, titled “Corrosive,” was originally scheduled to air on January 15. NBC confirmed that it has been shelved and will not air as planned. Instead, the network will broadcast the SVU episode that was originally set for January 22.
Busfield was set to appear in the pulled episode as a guest star playing a judge. He previously appeared on the show in 2011 and also directed two episodes in 2019.
The decision comes after reports that an arrest warrant was issued for Busfield in New Mexico. He is facing two counts of s**** abuse involving a minor. The information comes from court records and an affidavit from the Albuquerque Police Department.
The allegations involve twin boys who worked as child actors on the Fox drama series The Cleaning Lady in 2022. Busfield directed several episodes of the show. According to the police affidavit, one of the boys told investigators that Busfield touched his “private areas” when he was seven years old and again when he was eight. The alleged incidents happened while the children were on set.
The same child told police he was “very afraid of Tim and was relieved when he was off set,” according to the affidavit. The other twin reportedly said he did not like being touched but stayed quiet because he did not want to get in trouble.
Warner Bros. Television, which produced The Cleaning Lady, previously conducted an internal investigation in 2025 after SAG-AFTRA received an anonymous complaint about Busfield’s behavior on set.
That complaint described a separate incident from December 2024 and alleged that Busfield kissed one of the boys on the face and touched their heads. Warner Bros. hired an outside investigator, who was unable to confirm those claims.
In a statement shared with the media, Warner Bros. said, “The health and safety of our cast and crew is always our top priority, especially the safety of minors on our productions. We take all allegations of misconduct very seriously and have systems in place to promptly and thoroughly investigate, and when needed, take appropriate action. We are aware of the current charges against Mr. Busfield and have been and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement.”
According to the affidavit, Busfield spoke with police by phone in November. When asked if he had physical contact with the boys, he said it was “highly likely” he had picked them up or tickled them, adding that it would not be unusual and that parents were often nearby. He later told police he did not clearly remember the boys and said, “I don’t remember those boys. No, I don’t.”
Police first spoke with the boys and their parents in 2024 after receiving a report from a doctor. At that time, no charges were filed. The case moved forward in September 2025 after one child disclosed the alleged abuse to a counselor and pediatrician.
Busfield’s legal representative has not responded to requests for comment. The Second Judicial District Attorney’s office in New Mexico also declined to comment.
