HBO has dropped a first look at Euphoria Season 3, giving fans a taste of what’s coming before the full trailer arrives tomorrow. The third season of the Zendaya-led hit series is set to premiere in April.

The new teaser hints at big changes for the characters. Rue, played by Zendaya, is now five years older and finds herself “south of the border” in Mexico, dealing with debt and trying to figure out ways to handle it.

Showrunner Sam Levinson explained that the time jump made sense for the story. “Five years felt like a natural place because if they’d gone to college, they’d be out of college at that time. We basically pick up Rue south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie, trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off,” Levinson said.

The teaser also teases big developments for Cassie and Nate. “Cassie is living in the suburbs with Nate, they’re engaged, and she’s very addicted to social media and envious of what appears to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living at this point in time,” Levinson shared. He confirmed that the couple does get married, promising fans it will be “an unforgettable night.”

Other characters are also moving on with their lives. Hunter Schafer’s Jules is in art school, Alexa Demie’s Maddy is working as a talent agent in Hollywood while juggling “side hustles,” and Maude Apatow’s Lexi lands a job as an assistant to a showrunner played by guest star Sharon Stone.

Several series regulars will be back, including Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow. Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry have been promoted to series regulars. Colman Domingo and Dominic Fike will return as guest stars. New additions to the cast include Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Rosalia, Marshawn Lynch, Sharon Stone, Natasha Lyonne, and many more.

Music is also getting a boost this season. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer joins Labrinth, who returns to continue shaping the show’s sound. Zimmer said, “It’s an honor to join this incredible team of storytellers led by the visionary Sam Levinson. Together, they have crafted such a bold and moving series that has meant so much to audiences.” Labrinth added, “Another chapter in the ‘Euphoria’ universe! So great to join Hans, one of my heroes in film score, and bring some new magic to this new season. Love x.”

Behind the camera, several Emmy-winning crew members return. Julio C. Perez IV serves as supervising editor and co-producer, Marcell Rév returns as director of photography, Doniella Davy leads the makeup department, Ryan Heffington is choreographer, and Kim Kimble oversees hair.

With the teaser giving just a glimpse, anticipation is building for what promises to be a dramatic and visually stunning season. Euphoria Season 3 premieres on HBO in April, with the full trailer dropping tomorrow.

The new season looks intense and full of surprises. Rue’s journey in Mexico and the focus on the next generation adds a fresh angle while keeping the story’s signature drama. What do you think about these new developments? Share your thoughts in the comments.
