Chris Noth Stirs Controversy Over Sarah Jessica Parker’s Golden Globes Honor
Sarah Jessica Parker recently found herself in the spotlight for reasons beyond her acting as former co-star Chris Noth made a controversial comment about her Golden Globes honor. Parker, known for her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City,” received the Carol Burnett Award at the Golden Globes, a recognition that appeared to provoke an unexpected reaction from Noth, who played her on-screen partner Mr. Big.
Noth shared a post on Instagram showing himself working out, captioned, “F*** new years – LETS GO!!!!” When a follower teased him about ignoring Parker’s award, he replied simply, “Right.” Fans were surprised by the comment given their long history on the show and what appeared to be a positive professional relationship.
The two actors’ connection has been strained since allegations of s**** assault against Noth surfaced in 2021. Two women accused him of assaults dating back to 2004 and 2015 in Los Angeles and New York City. Noth denied the allegations, calling them “categorically false,” and was not charged. However, the claims affected his career, leading to his character being killed off in the revival series “And Just Like That,” with additional scenes reportedly removed, according to Variety.
Parker has publicly distanced herself from Noth since the allegations. When asked by The Hollywood Reporter if she had communicated with him since December 2021, she simply said, “No.” Along with co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, Parker issued a statement supporting the women who came forward: “We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
Interestingly, despite their strained relationship, Noth defended Parker in 2021 against rumors of tension with former co-star Kim Cattrall. In an interview with The Guardian, he expressed strong support for Parker and criticized negative comments made about her.
This situation shows how complicated relationships in Hollywood can become, especially when personal and professional histories collide. It also highlights the impact of public accusations on careers and public perception.
It’s clear that Parker is prioritizing her own boundaries and supporting survivors while maintaining professionalism. The situation also reminds us of the long-term consequences allegations can have in the entertainment industry. What do you think about this situation? Share your thoughts in the comments.
