Nicole Kidman is embracing a bold new chapter with a sartorial upgrade that proves she is anything but unbridled. The Oscar winner arrived in the City of Light this week with a fresh, unbothered energy, trading the quiet domesticity of the past for the high-octane glamour of the French maison.

The actress attended the Chanel Haute Couture spring/summer 2026 show during Paris Fashion Week on January 27. The black midi dress, courtesy of the French house, showcased a sleek straight-cut silhouette with a silk top layered over a black sequin skirt. Feathered accents along the neckline, shoulders, and hemline added a dramatic, couture-worthy twist.

Nicole completed her sleek look with dark sunglasses, a small croc-effect leather bag, and black pumps highlighted with stark white detailing. The actress styled her blonde locks into soft waves, while her makeup exuded soft glam with a rosy cheek and nude-stained lip. Her attendance at the Chanel show is hardly surprising given her significant role with the brand.

Back in October, Nicole shared that she would be returning to Chanel as an ambassador following the debut of Matthieu Blazy as the house’s new creative director. I am thrilled to be joining Chanel as it begins its new chapter with Matthieu at the helm, she said at the time.

As someone who has such an appreciation for Haute Couture, I am so looking forward to witnessing Matthieu’s vision for the oldest Haute Couture House still in operation and having the opportunity to wear what I know will be gorgeous creations, she added. This professional milestone came just months after her high-profile split from husband Keith Urban.

The couple finalized their divorce in early January after 19 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. Under the terms of the settlement, Kidman serves as the primary residential parent for their teenage daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, while Urban maintains visitation on alternating weekends.

Despite the personal transition, Kidman’s career remains in high gear with a slate of major projects for 2026. She is set to star alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in the Amazon Prime Video series Scarpetta, an eight-episode crime thriller based on the novels by Patricia Cornwell, premiering March 11.

Kidman is also reuniting with Sandra Bullock for the long-awaited sequel Practical Magic 2, which hit the big screen in September. Beyond film and TV, she has been spending her newfound free time on personal adventures, including a recent “once in a lifetime” trip to Antarctica with her sister and daughters.

Additionally, fans can look forward to her return in the third season of the hit HBO series Big Little Lies, which officially entered production late last year. Kidman’s ability to balance heavy dramatic roles with her status as a global fashion icon remains unmatched.
