Dua Lipa Stuns Fans With an ’80s Look and a Classic Side Part
Dua Lipa turned heads in Paris this week, and it had nothing to do with a new song. According to coverage from Paris Haute Couture Week and information shared by Chanel, the singer made a striking appearance at the Chanel Haute Couture show on January 27, where fashion’s biggest names gathered at the Grand Palais.
The show marked the couture debut of Matthieu Blazy for Chanel, and the front row was packed with ambassadors, celebrities, and industry insiders. Inside the venue, the focus was on detailed craft, soft fabrics, and classic Chanel shapes reworked with care. But for many people watching online, all eyes quickly landed on Dua Lipa.
Lipa is usually known for her shiny, modern, Gen Z-style looks. Sleek dresses, bold glam, and a strong pop-star edge have become her signature. This time, though, she went in a very different direction. With the help of her longtime stylist Lorenzo Posocco, she chose a look from Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Spring 2026 collection.

The outfit was a colorful skirt suit in yellow, black, and red tweed. Red details along the edges gave the suit what Chanel described as a “deliberately scorched effect”. The jacket was sharp and structured, and Lipa skipped a top underneath, wearing it on its own to highlight the cut and the gold Chanel buttons.
Her accessories followed the same idea of mixing old and new. She carried a Chanel Flap bag in matching fiery colors, another recent design by Blazy. On her feet were ankle-strap heels that felt more modern than Chanel’s classic styles. Her jewelry stood out too. She wore a yellow-gold Tiffany & Co. engagement ring along with bold earrings from Blazy’s Spring 2026 ready-to-wear line.
Her beauty look completed the shift. Lipa showed off a deep side part, bronzed skin, and a dark mauve lip, a clear nod to an ’80s-inspired style rather than her usual high-glam vibe.
Dua Lipa is building her film career. After appearing as Mermaid Barbie in Barbie and starring in the spy movie Argylle, Lipa is spending more time in front of the camera. According to fashion insiders in Paris, her frequent visits to the Chanel atelier have also fueled rumors that she may be working on something personal, possibly even a custom wedding dress ahead of her rumored wedding to actor Callum Turner.
Whether she is on stage, on screen, or sitting front row at couture week, Dua Lipa continues to evolve. Her latest Chanel look shows she is not afraid to experiment and change direction, even when it means stepping away from the style that made her a fashion favorite in the first place.
